HYAS Infosec is looking for an experienced and highly skilled SRE to help define, design, build, and deploy our SaaS application infrastructure on Azure. You will join a team that is responsible for the design, operation, availability, change management, performance, monitoring, security, and emergency response of our cloud infrastructure.  In this role you will help maintain the HYAS culture while impacting the trajectory of an ambitious tech startup. Job location can be remote in  Canada; preferred locations are Victoria, B.C., but all locations within Canada are encouraged to apply.

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Own the overall health and availability for our SaaS application infrastructure by monitoring technical and business metrics
  • Build monitoring and alerting strategy required for our SaaS application infrastructure.
  • Measure and optimize system performance applying SRE principles
  • Identify opportunities to automate or improve processes and then implement the automation
  • Ensure emergency events can be responded to quickly and precisely
  • Proactively provide an SRE perspective to future architecture designs and implementations
  • Work closely with engineering teams, product management and security services to improve overall reliability
  • Proactively test the elasticity and resiliency of our SaaS application infrastructure
  • Enhance and improve current Incident and RCA processes
  • Respond to and debug production incidents in an on-call rotation

 

Requirements:

 

  • Minimum 3–5 years in SRE, Dev Ops, Net Ops, or other related roles
  • Excellent creative problem-solving skills and communication ability
  • High proficiency in automation with previous experience in infrastructure orchestration and operations
  • Knowledge of and experience with a wide array of application stacks
  • Knowledge of and experience with multiple cloud hosting providers (Azure is a plus)
  • Strong UNIX skills
  • Experience with REST API and micro-services architectures
